Brief Biography: I graduated with a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature in 1971. I am now Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, The Chinese University of HK. My academic qualifications include a PhD ( Toronto, OISE), M.A., PCEd and Adv. DipEd ( London). I worked in various tertiary institutions, e.g. the HK Polytechnic University, the former HK Institute of Education and the Education Office, ICAC, and am eager to find ways to build bridges among institutions, alumni and the community. Since graduating from HKU, I have long been an active supporter of my alma mater. In Toronto in the 1990s, I was President of the HKUAA Ontario Chapter and the Association grew to become the largest and one of the most active overseas HKUAA chapters in the world. I am also a University Court member, a HKU mentor and a life member of HKUGA and HKU Arts Association. I was also ex-President of Old Halls Alumni Association and now serves on their exco. As a Convocation SC member, I hope to facilitate a broader representation of alumni to develop an ethos of service to make positive contribution to HKU and the broader HK and international community. |
